Like its predecessor 'Ata'Ata, Lista aims to embody the symbol of a smile: setting off on an adventure over the seas to meet others in a friendly way and discover facets of the world that are not always very accessible, without taking oneself too seriously.
The boat is an IW31, built in fiberglass 50 years ago in Sweden to a design by the renowned American naval architects Sparkman & Stephens.
Designed at the time for ocean racing, Lista is a wonderful, strong and very efficient little sailboat, equipped with a "V" hull which makes her an excellent upwind sailor.
Her two cabins are ingeniously designed to offer a singlehander all the space and amenities essential for long-distance life aboard.

A 13 hp Volvo diesel engine propels the boat at 6 knots when the wind fails... or in canals like those of Patagonia, for example, often against winds and currents. Small and compact, this engine can even be started by hand. The fuel tank holds 40 liters, with a reserve of 40 liters in jerry cans, useful both for propulsion or for generating electricity.
A wind vane steers the boat in windy conditions, while a small electric pilot can maintain a course in calm conditions. A Starlink receiver completes the GPS navigation system, allowing for downloaf of weather reports.

The onboard electricity is also provided by two solar panels and a wind turbine. The boat has no heating, although it is not systematically insulated, in order to reduce energy requirements.
As a dinghy there is a small inflatable kayak on board.
